why??

Although I'd like you to think otherwise I'm a fish and chips kind of girl when I go out to eat. Even if I order something else, if coleslaw is on the menu, I need to try it. When the coleslaw falls short of perfect the entire meal can be a disappointment.

After years of searching for the perfect coleslaw, which includes recipes, I finally found it! My husband and I were in Bangor, Maine recently at Paddy Murphy's Irish Pub. Not only did they have the best fish (beer-battered) and chips but the coleslaw was the one I've been searching for all these years.
It had the perfect balance between sweet and tart and the creaminess was perfect.

I asked the waitress for the recipe and I felt shunned. No response. I wondered if perhaps she didn't hear me but I wasn't about to ask again.

And here I am blogging about my search.

My plan is to post once a week (but that probably will not happen) with a new recipe until I find The One. Any more than that and my family will probably kick me out of the kitchen. Hmmm . .that wouldn't be so bad.

Please feel free to share your recipes with me. I'd love to hear from you!

Oh, by the way, if you are interested in paintings of food I've painted more than a few food themed still lifes.
